Advanced Mobility Analytics Group (AMAG) is pleased to announce it has signed a partnership with New Zealand transportation and infrastructure advisory group Urban Connection that will see AMAG’s cutting-edge software widely available in the country for the first time.
Under the strategic partnership, Hawke’s Bay-based Urban Connection will act as the exclusive distributor for AMAG’s innovative AI-driven technology.
Using near miss and critical conflicts to proactively measure risk, the collaboration is set to revolutionise the way traffic incidents and trends are identified and addressed, making roads safer and more efficient and helping achieve the vision of an Aotearoa where no one is killed or seriously injured on the roads.
Founded by Aaron Campion and Tony Harrison, Urban Connection is known for its expertise in delivering data-driven insights and will be instrumental in integrating AMAG’s products within New Zealand’s transportation infrastructure.
AMAG’s cutting-edge software solutions, which leverage existing sensor systems such as video and LiDAR, analyse road user interactions and behaviours at a level of granularity and accuracy that previous sensors cannot achieve. The solutions provide invaluable real-time insights into the transportation system, particularly for vulnerable road users, enabling and facilitating proactive management, operations, and decision-making.
AMAG CEO Simon Washington said Urban Connection was the ideal partner to expand the company’s presence in New Zealand.
“Urban Connection and AMAG share a laser focus on bringing the best solutions to save lives and reduce injuries on our transport networks,” he said. “Much like the benefits we bring to our customers in Australia, Canada, and the US, we are very excited to work with Aaron, Tony, and the Urban Connection team to help New Zealand customers provide better outcomes for road users.”
“By harnessing the power of existing sensor systems, AMAG offers a unique perspective on road user behaviour and interaction, facilitating safer and more effective transportation networks.”
Urban Connection Director Aaron Campion said after presenting at the ITSNZ T-Tech Future Transport Conference in Wellington, which Simon was also presenting at, it was clear that AMAG was at the forefront of advanced technology solutions for traffic system analysis that were designed to save lives and prevent serious injuries.
One of the advantages of ITSNZ is that their network and events bring together innovative organisations.
“This partnership is an example of that and represents a significant step towards enhancing the safety and efficiency of New Zealand’s transportation system. Through the combined expertise of AMAG and Urban Connection, this collaboration is set to lead the way in innovative traffic management solutions
Urban Connection is a highly experienced group of professionals passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex transportation problems.
