Our History

At Advanced Mobility Analytics Group Pty Ltd (AMAG), it’s our vision to be the world-leading digital platform provider for proactive road safety analytics and management. Applying more than 70 years of cumulative road safety knowledge, we’ve developed a comprehensive road safety management suite of products to streamline how we analyze traffic.

 

 

Our founders have solved the challenge of predictive analytics for road safety, and we’ve spent the last decade creating the proven methodology and technology for this through research, refinement, testing, and validation within 23 cities across eight countries.

A timeline of Innovation

1996

Our founders met as university professors

Our three co-founders, Dr Simon Washington, Dr Shimul Haque, and Dr Tarek Sayed, met as university professors. They each brought decades of experience in Road Safety and Transportation research.

2009

There was a gap in transport analytics

The trio had discovered a relationship between near-misses and actual crashes. The problem was that near-misses are quite difficult to identify and assess with the human eye.

2018

They got to work on a solution

In response to this issue, the team started developing AI technologies to accurately calculate and track road users. Their goal was that near-misses would be able to objectively monitored y factors like the speed of the user and their braking distance.

A coffee changed it all

While having a coffee, the founders decided to look for funding and start a private company using their technology and research. They wanted to avoid those standard slow approval processes that come with university research. They wanted greater freedom to scale the technology and serve a multitude of customers properly.

AMAG Launch 🚀

With all the right approvals and a wealth of research behind them, our founders launched AMAG.

2021

A period of growth

Our AMAG team grew and grew between 2019 and 2021, with our team reaching 40+ employees and our technology goals broadening. We expanded from road safety, into road management as a whole.
